Choose your deployment approach

The TV already has a computer inside.

A native TV app removes a separate playback device from compatible installations. An external player adds another device, but can be the right choice for unsupported TVs or specialist requirements. Compare the actual installation before switching.

Installation and maintenance

With CasTV.ai's native path, the app runs on the TV and content is managed in the cloud. With a box-based deployment, the player connects to the display and has its own software, power and cabling to maintain. App installation and unattended boot behaviour still depend on the TV's firmware.

Compatibility comes before savings

Pilot the native app on the exact TV model. Consumer TVs may need developer-mode deployment and may lack commercial power-control or boot-launch APIs. A dedicated player can extend the useful life of a display that cannot run the TV app.

Qualify the wall, not a checkbox

CasTV.ai coordinates starts and corrects drift, with local peer synchronization on supported Tizen configurations and bounded backend synchronization on webOS. Continuous frame lock across every supported TV is not qualified. Compare both approaches on the same content, panels and network.

Count the whole installation

Request current CasTV.ai terms and compare subscription, player, cabling, power, support and site-visit costs over the same period. Assess any savings using quotes for your actual installation.

Switch one screen first

Keep existing content and a rollback route. Install and pair one TV, recreate a menu, verify the physical display and test a network outage. Expand only after the pilot passes your requirements.

Common questions

Is this a comparison with a specific vendor?

No. It compares native smart TV apps with deployments that use a separate media player. Individual vendors can support multiple approaches and different capabilities.

When is an external player a better fit?

Consider one for unsupported TVs, specialist video or input requirements, or a commercial installation whose required behaviour has been qualified with that player.
